Hymns Without Words Vol 1 Overview
This is the first volume of over 100 performances by Richard Irwin of hymns in a variety of styles, ancient and modern for singing during worship. Originally recorded for the churches of the Ridgeway Benefice in Wiltshire, England they are designed for use in services where there is no organ or other live music.
They use all sorts of instrumentation from full organ to orchestra, from brass band and rock band. They are performed with appropriate introduction and pauses for breathing and gaps between verses where appropriate.
